Oceaniques: Duras-Godard (1987)
Godard: My film is more a silent film, but with plenty of sound. The text has no meaning.
Duras: You fill the sound with words.
Godard: Yes, I love them. I'm certainly the only filmmaker that often uses books.
Duras: Yes, you pick them up and look at them! Don't you read the books?
Godard: That is my weak point. Yes, I read them like... It is like, train ride or walking. Do I move forward? I'm not sure. I browse them, like they say, but I'm under the impression that I'm reading.
Duras: You don't say: "I read this book."?
Godard: In the past, yes. But then I was proven wrong.
